I know many of you know about the hullabaloo concerning an artist, who is a friend of mine, who did some practice art through tracing and got in trouble for it, etc. etc. etc.

I want to remind some of you holier-than-thou ASSHOLES who totally blew things out of proportion that a lot of what YOU do is not allowed either. Specifically, editing photos that are NOT yours and are NOT stock photos to make layouts (or to make a male horse a mare, etc.) and in some/most cases, cropping off the copyright information. Guess what? IT'S JUST AS BAD. And if you think that horse owners are oblivious, you are incorrect, because I have read published articles (!) talking about the horse SIM scene (Horseland, et al) and how the photos are used without permission and are frequently edited.

There are ways to cover your ass, and some uses are covered by Fair Use policies and laws, but I'm seeing a LOT of the pot calling the kettle black in some logs I've been provided, so instead of making yourselves look even dumber, quit while you're ahead.
